Chieftec Aegis CH-05SL-B-OP Computer Case Mini Review
The Chieftec Aegis CH-05SL-B-OP is a silver & black ATX mid-tower steel computer case, advertised as an “Extreme Workstation Tower”. The case includes front door, a side panel with a window, three 5.25″ drive bays, six 3.5″ HDD bays, a 3.5″ Floppy drive bay, and seven expansion slots. Mounting of 5.25″ and 3.5″ devices, as well as PCIe/PCI cards, is screwless.
You can mount an optional 120mm fan on the top of the chassis, a 120mm fan on the rear, and two optional 90mm fans on its right side.
Chieftec Aegis CH-05SL-B-OP has two USB ports, mic-in and audio-out connectors, and an IEEE 1394 port on the front. The front panel is made of black plastics, while the door sport silver plastics and metal mesh.
The only two things I don’t like on this case is flexing when opening the front door and its weight of almost 29 pounds. On the other side, everything else gives an impression of a high quality computer case.
The CH-05SL-B-OP case currently (04/27/2009) costs $94.99 after instant savings and is also available in black (CH-05B-B-OP).
